Hired as a student helper with the official title of Developer — production code at a consultancy while the degree was still in progress.
I joined Immeo as a student helper — official role: Developer — and spent a year on a B2B commerce platform while finishing my degree: Episerver CMS, inRiver PIM, a React webshop, IdentityServer4, Solr, and .NET microservices doing the integration work between them. The delivery team was two people: a senior colleague as architect and project manager, and me as the developer. With no one else to hand things to, I quickly learned what it takes for code to hold up in production.
a.A team of two — the only developer on the solution, next to a senior colleague acting as architect and project manager.
b.One platform, many moving parts — a B2B commerce solution: Episerver CMS and inRiver PIM behind a React webshop, held together by .NET microservices and IdentityServer4.
c.One year to full time — joined February 2021, promoted to Consultant February 2022, the month after the studies wrapped up.
